Civil and Criminal Litigation
Alanna C. Stephen joined Yachetti, Lanza & RestivoLLP as an associate in 2005.
Ms. Stephen’s practice covers a wide range of Litigation matters including Criminal Defence, varied Civil Litigation cases and Personal Injury claims arising from Motor Vehicle Accidents and Medical Malpractice.
Ms. Stephen received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Guelph in 2001 with a major in Criminal Justice & Public Policy and a minor in Spanish. She attended Law School at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy graduating with both Canadian and American law degrees in 2004.
In Law School, Ms. Stephen successfully represented a leading political activist from Uganda and first-chaired the hearing before the U.S. Immigration Court. She also took first place in the University of Detroit Mercy’s Professional Moot Court Competition as the Competition’s outstanding advocate and was on the Moot Court Board of Directors from 2002-2004. Ms. Stephen was called to the Bar in 2005.
She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Hamilton Law Association, the Hamilton Lawyers’ Club and the Advocates’ Society. Ms. Stephen has served as a volunteer judge for the G. Mennan Moot Court Competition in Detroit, Michigan.
