Roger D. Yachetti, Q.C.
Civil and Criminal Litigation
Roger D. Yachetti practices entirely in the field of litigation, both Civil and Criminal. He has been doing both for over 40 years.
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, in both Arts and Law, Mr. Yachetti was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1966. At law school, he was awarded the Gold Medal and, at the Bar Admission Course, he was awarded the Treasurer’s Medal – the highest award available.
Over the years, Mr. Yachetti has distinguished himself as a leading litigator in Civil and Criminal matters. He has been recognized as such by being appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1979, and by the recognition of his peers – by being awarded the Hamilton Law Association’s Emilius Irving Award for outstanding contribution, in 2004.
Mr. Yachetti has been a Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the governing body for the legal profession in the Province of Ontario, since 1979. After being elected on four separate occasions, and serving for 16 years as an Elected Bencher, he opted to become a Life Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1995.
Mr. Yachetti has also been involved in numerous community organizations, including a three year stint as the Chairman of the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Football Club of the Canadian Football League, from 1992 to 1995. As such, he was also a Governor of the Canadian Football League.
Mr. Yachetti has received numerous awards, including a Paul Harris Fellowship by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, Italo-Canadian Citizen of the Year in 1995, as well as induction into the Gallery of Distinction for the City of Hamilton for 1997.
